This is a Sergal kit from 1973. It is a double plank-on-bulkhead hull model using limewood for the first layer, and walnut for the outer layer. Currently Mantua produces one at the same scale.Mantua seems to have acquired Sergal because Mantua is referred to as Mantua Sergal. Full scale plans 42 wide (some are shown in the images) with. Added guidance for assembly can be found. All keel, deck, and frame parts are pre-cut.
A special brass sheet shown in the last image provides stern filigree. UNLIKE THE MANTUA KITS, THERE ARE NO LASER CUT PARTS IN THIS KIT. The next to last image shows the items that you will need to cut out. Many can be cut with a simple Xacto blade, some would require a jeweler's saw. The box is wrinkled as shown in the picture but all parts and plans are in very good to excellent condition.
It has been stored untouched in a smoke and mildew free environment. I will never get around to building it so I'm hoping to find someone who wants it. There is no specific scale given in the kit but it's length closely matched the Mantua Model which is scale 1:60. The Mantua version claims to be 31.5" x 24 1/2".
The one to one plans for this Sergal version measure 31" by 24 1/2". The difference may be in how the flag flies at the stern.
