This is a genuine wooden model boat produced by Billing Boats. The Norden was a type of coaster, typical along the Western coast of Denmark. This type of boat was originally designed by local boat builders in the villages of Klitmøller and Vorupør around 1930.It represents centuries of innovations in maritime technology, and modern coasters remained largely unchanged. This is a vintage kit that was opened and never started. It does appear to be complete, however I have not counted all the pieces. Please review all photos for a better idea of the item's condition.
Featuring a plank on frame construction, wood keel and frame components, wooden superstructure and decks, ramin masts, rigging cord, and numerous fittings for a museum quality finish. All of the 600 Series Model Boat Kits (item numbers 600-609) include an easier way of building the hull. The hull is assembled in halves, on a table. This allows for easier assembly and is quite useful in learning plank-on-frame or plank-on-bulkhead construction! Once each half is done you join the two for a completed hull. Length: 13.6 inches (34.5 cm). Beam: 4.5 inches (11.5 cm).
